Super interesting I can only hope that he found his own startup committed to open source values. Or that he joins DeepSeek.

Either ByteDance or starting his own venture, there is no other space left in China, or maybe Meta haha?

The signal here isn’t talent leaving.

It’s the structural tension between open-source AI and the capital intensity of compute infrastructure.

I recall the Chinese government in second half of last year came out with an AI plan that consists of further push for open models and then AI adoption into industry and apps. AI+ maybe? Will that not be a counter balance against the Chinese labs going closed source?
